3 Scholarships Awarded at the Southern Swamp Gala

The SWFL Heroes Foundation is proud to announce the latest recipients of our educational scholarships. We have awarded scholarships to three exceptional students who have demonstrated a strong commitment to their community and a passion for their chosen career paths.

 

Scholarship Recipients:

Adamaris Hurtado

Adamaris Hurtado will be pursuing a career in criminology. Adamaris has been actively involved in her school and community, serving as regional Vice President for the Florida 

Public Safety Association State Board and participating in student council activities. She is also a member of her school’s Color Guard and local Spanish Club.

Adamaris has been involved in a number of non-school sponsored volunteer activities, including aiding in Hurricane Ian relief efforts and participating in annual 9/11, Veteran’s Day, and Memorial Day ceremonies. Her strong leadership skills, dedication to community service, and academic achievements make her a deserving recipient of our scholarship.

Chloe Mason

Chloe Mason will be pursuing firefighter and EMT training. Chloe has excelled academically, earning A-B Honor Roll status from 2017-2021 and becoming a member of the National Honor Society in 2020. Chloe has also been recognized as Fire Recruit of the Year. 

Chloe has shown a strong commitment to serving her community through volunteer work, including serving as an Emergency Medical Responder at sporting events, participating in VFW clean-up efforts after Hurricane Ian, and helping teachers at a local elementary school set up their classrooms.
Extracurricular activities include band, weightlifting, and track and field.

Chloe’s hard work and dedication to her community make her an excellent candidate for our scholarship.

Ulysses Gomez

Ulysses Gomez will be entering the field of criminal justice. Ulysses has a passion for community service and has been involved in a wide range of volunteer activities through his school’s Criminal Justice Academy. 

As as an inaugural member (Vice-Commander) of the Honor Guard, Ulysses has been responsible for presenting the National and State Flag at local community events. He also volunteers with Wreaths Across America, a program that places wreaths on the graves of our Veterans. 

Ulysses has maintained a high level of academic achievement, earning A/B Honor Roll status and being named the Criminal Justice Level 3 Student of the Year.
His dedication to community service and his strong academic record make him an ideal candidate for our scholarship.
