OFF DUTY FISHING SERIES Donates $20,000 to SWFL Heroes Foundation

Off Duty Fishing Series Donates $20,000 to SW Florida Heroes

Off Duty Fishing Series wrapped up two high-energy offshore fishing tournaments this year — the 2025 Snapper Bash and Grouper Bash — with proceeds supporting several community-focused initiatives across Southwest Florida. As part of that effort, they presented a $20,000 donation to the SWFL Heroes Foundation this week, helping further our mission of supporting aspiring local heroes across the region.

Who Is Off Duty Fishing Series?

Off Duty Fishing Series was co-founded by Alec Dilallo and Ryan Joyce, two local firefighters and charter captains who wanted to bring some energy back to the offshore fishing community — and give back to the people of Southwest Florida in the process.

After Hurricane Ian, they saw firsthand how hard-hit Fort Myers Beach and surrounding areas were. So they decided to do something simple but meaningful: host a fishing tournament that could raise money for rebuilding efforts. That first event — the Red Grouper Bash — turned into a major success, awarding over $25,000 in cash prizes and donating $15,000 directly back to the Fort Myers Beach community.

That first event laid the foundation for what Off Duty Fishing Series is today — a tournament series focused on giving back to the community while bringing people together through fishing.

Today, Off Duty runs a two-part annual series — the Snapper Bash and Grouper Bash — with the goal of raising funds for different local causes each year. For Alec, Ryan, and the Off Duty team, this is about showing up for the region they live and work in. It’s about doing good while doing something they love.

Their partnership with SWFL Heroes Foundation this year is part of that ongoing mission — and it’s already making a difference.

Partnership with SWFL Heroes Foundation

This partnership between Off Duty Fishing Series and SWFL Heroes Foundation reflects a shared mission: showing up for the people who show up for everyone else.

As Off Duty continues to grow its tournament series, and the Foundation expands its reach across the region, this collaboration will remain focused on one thing — building strong support for those who serve Southwest Florida.
