Scholarship Recipient Success!
November 15th marked a momentous occasion as Ulysses Granados, a member of the Major-Class of 2023, proudly walked across the stage to graduate from the Basic Corrections Academy at South Florida Community College. It was a day of immense pride and celebration for Officer Granados, and for all those who supported and cheered him on throughout his journey.
The significance of this achievement cannot be overstated. To witness the fruition of hard work, dedication, and perseverance in an individual, while playing a part in each recipient’s journey, is what the SWFL Heroes Foundation is all about. We exist to leave a legacy in honor of the remarkable life of fallen Officer Julian Keen.
Each scholarship recipient is chosen, not only for their academic achievements, but also for their dedication to better the SWFL community through volunteerism and humanitarian efforts.
Ulysses Granados was awarded a scholarship during the 2023 Southern Swamp Gala, in Labelle, Florida.

If you (or someone you know) has a dream to serve SWFL as a first responder and is enrolled in one of the academies but could benefit from a scholarship, please direct them to our website. Simply fill out the Scholarship Application right on the website and submit it for review.
Scholarships are awarded on availability of funds and qualifying criteria, which includes engagement within the community, academic achievements, along with any professional referrals.
